Previously, the multidisciplinary creative founded and operated an online fashion brand, transforming original hand-drawn textile illustrations into sleepwear and accessories. From concept through to execution, Sam directed every stage of the creative process, including textile design, campaign visual direction, image editing, graphic design, and content creation.

Truth? Sam slept on the job.

Not really! But Sam K Ryan dreamed of becoming a creative designer and media maker from the very beginning.

Growing up in country Victoria as a frilly-sock-wearing child with an overactive imagination, Sam spent countless hours creating worlds through pictures and words. Long before home internet existed (the true Stone Age, depending on who you ask), she filled pages with illustrated characters, colourful concepts, and tiny imagined universes that sparked an enduring love for storytelling and design.

The early fascination never really left. Instead, it grew into a lifelong love of design, media, and storytelling in all its forms. Sam also dreamed of designing garments for film and the runway, or stepping behind the lens as a filmmaker. Today, the Sam K Ryan sleepwear and accessories brand has found its place throughout the pages of her portfolio.

Currently, Sam blends design thinking with storytelling to create thoughtful and engaging work for businesses and brands. She is open to collaborations across design, content creation, and visual communications, and invites you to get in touch to discuss your next project.
